Description
PeriScope is
the state-of-the-art PC Windows* based Vascular
Analysis System with interpretation
PeriScope
uses automatic simultaneous limb NiBP (Non-Invasive
Blood Pressure) measurement and ECG waveform to
calculate important parameters like Arterial Stiffness
Index, Pulse wave velocities, Ankle brachial Index,
Ejection slope etc. Additionally, it incorporates
Oscillometric envelopes and interpretive monograms.
These are established as independent markers to
analyze the arterial stiffness and Atherosclerosis.
PeriScope
also calculates Mean Arterial Pressure, Pulse Pressure,
%MAP, Ejection Time etc. All these parameters give
a complete picture of vascular function of the patient.
It is a very useful tool for prevention, detection
and treatment follow up of vascular diseases.
Windows*
based PeriScope
software & serial port (optional USB Port) communication with the PeriScope
instrument turns any PC into a full-fledged vascular
analysis system, with online real time graphs on
screen. It gives a multicolor / B& W one-page
report on A4 size paper. In-built patient database
with more than 1000 patients memory helps you keep
track of patient history. All at your mouse clicks
in the very user-friendly PeriScope software environment.
PeriScope
has been validated for Repeatability
and reproducibility. Based on these studies, a
research paper "Validity and reproducibility of
arterial pulse wave velocity measurement using new
device with oscillometric technique : a pilot
study" has been published in the international
journal Biomedical Engineering Online.

PeriScope
has undergone extensive Clinical Trials
on Normal Subjects and Patients with CAD, HTN, DM,
CKD, RA etc. One of the major trial was carried on nearly 4000 patients.
It has established the strong link between arterial stiffness and CVD of various kinds.
This original research article can be viewed at Indian Journal of Pharmacology (IJP) website.
A study validating the Aortic pressure parameters found by PeriScope by comparing them with another validated device based on tonometry has also been carried out.
This study establishes a very good correlation and agreement in results of both the devices as per BHS and AAMI protocols. This research article can also be downloaded from IJP website.
Another major study has been carried out on Normal subjects and Patients having controlled or uncontrolled Hypertension. This is a milestone study in cardiology in India which proves that arterial stiffness
measurement is an essential part of Anti-hypertensive therapy.
This research article can be viewed here online. The editorial article with international perspective and south Asian focus emphasizes the role of Arterial Stiffness measurement in Patients as well as asymptomatic general population. It also reveals the role of PeriScope test as a counter-check mechanism for the treating physician to let him know that the therapy is producing desirable effects.
