12 October 2005 : Considering the
paucity of serial port in the latest laptop/notebook
PCs running Windows*; Genesis has started conversion
of its existing serial port devices to USB port devices.
The complete conversion will take few months. Conversion
of serial port based products PeriScope, AtheroWin and
ThesioWin is complete. Other conversions will be announced
upon completion. |

27 August 2005 : In detection of
arterial stiffness, a significant amount of importance
is given to Carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV_CF).
This has driven Genesis to develop a doppler based
solution to find Carotid femoral PWV "SonoWin_CF".
This is a Windows* based device dedicated to simplifying
the process and calculation of Carotid femoral PWV. |

23 August 2005 : A research paper
"Validity and reproducibility of arterial pulse
wave velocity
measurement using new device with oscillometric technique:
A pilot study" is published in the international
journal Biomedical Engineering Online. This paper
validates PeriScope. It may be found here.

are already over. Analysis of data and paper preparation

14 May 2005 : Genesis has completed
development of "SonoWin" , a Windows* based
doppler ankle brachial index analyzer. This will add
to the series of non-invasive atherosclerosis detection
devices. The validation studies of this device will
begin shortly. |

15 February 2005: Genesis has announced
its plans to get ISO13485 process certification. This
is a step towards international marketing of its products.
Subsequently, CE marking for all its devices will also
be sought. This will open up European market. Initial
ground work for FDA approval is also being carried out. |

17 December 2004 : A portable stand
alone digital biothesiometer named as "VibroSense"
is developed by Genesis. This device uses DC to AC conversion
for accurate vibration amplitudes and waveforms. It
will enable the clinicians in bedside detection of peripheral
neuropathy at an affordable price. |

27 July 2004 : Keeping in view
the present direction of devices to detect neuropathies,
Genesis has developed a new peripheral neuropathy detection
device "ThesioWin". This is an automatic digital
/ PC based vibration perception threshold analyzer. |

ThesioWin also incorporates a unique
vibration mechanism that gets rid of the hand pressure
bias which can affect the VPT values and hence proper
diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy will be possible. |

17 March 2004 : A device to detect
Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy based on Ewing battery
of tests named as "CANWin" is unveiled by
Genesis. This device can detect sympathetic and Parasympathetic
nervous system damage and diagnose CAN. |

A completely automatic device, "CANWin"
has a complete set of accessories required for the battery
of tests. It can conduct all the maneuver and postural
tests as per clinical requirements. This device will
enable the clinicians to carry out the CAN tests in
a hassle-free way. The validation studies for this device
have already started. |

01 January 2004 : Genesis has completed
development of PC Windows* based new model of "DicroWin_C".
This device help the use of PPG analysis in a clinical
setup. |

14 November 2003 : Genesis has completed
development of PC Windows* based new model of "PeriScope".
This device will provide a complete Cardiovascular analysis
in a clinical setup, epidemiological studies or
in remote places. |

15 July 2003 : Genesis has started
development of a clinically usable model of DicroWin.
The model will be called as "DicroWin_C";
the 'C' signifying clinical use. This model will have
superimposed PPG waveforms for quality control, normalized
PPG waveform, its first and second derivative. |

24 June 2003 : Genesis announces
launch of the ABI and ASI analysis system "AtheroWin".
This device is based on fully automatic blood pressure
measurement and PPG analysis. The name AtheroWin
is derived from Atherosclerosis, the underlying cause
of any cardiovascular/ arterial disease. |

It can also detect atherosclerosis
in its preliminary stages by way of calculating estimated
carotid femoral pulse wave velocity. This velocity an
also indicate a Psuedo-high ABI value due to calcification. |

20 February 2003 : Genesis has decided
to discontinue its standalone model of "PeriScope".
This decision is taken considering the size of the device.
The big size of the device is an the impediment in the
logistics sense and hence it can not be carried to remote
places by the clinicians to carry out tests. A new PC
Windows* based model will soon be launched in its place.
This will be a portable model which can be attached
to a Laptop PC thus enabling its use for epidemiological
studies and diagnosis in remote places. |

12 December 2002 : Genesis has started
development of a new Ankle brachial index and arterial
stiffness index measuring device "AtheroWin".
This device will be a fully automatic device with Blood
pressure measurement and PPG analysis. |

30 July 2002 : The validation studies
of "DicroWin" have been successfully completed
and have shown encouraging results. These trials were
able to show a significant correlation between the parameters
detected by DicroWin and cardiovascular diseases in
patients. |

This device has proven its CV disease
diagnosing capability. The trials were carried out on
patients with kidney failure, hypertension, angina and
normal subjects. The data obtained showed that the parametric
values significantly correlated with the disease. Some
more trials are also underway to determine whether this
device can be used in detecting early arterial dysfunction
in seemingly normal subjects with a high risk lifestyle. |

17 March 2002 : Genesis has completed
the development of its stand-alone cardiovascular risk
analyzer "PeriScope". This device is the most
versatile tool to predict, diagnose and prognose any
cardiovascular disease like CAD, PAD, CKD or stroke
arising out of stiffening of arteries and plaque formation. |

This device can detect Arterial stiffness
by measuring pulse wave velocities, arterial stiffness
indices and ankle brachial indices. It also measures
all blood pressures automatically. It also calculates
parameters like LVET, Upstroke time, Heart rate etc.,
which can give a complete risk profile of the patient.
Validation studies of this device will start soon. |

03 November 2001 : A new PC based
photoplethysmographic vascular analyzer "DicroWin"
is developed by Genesis. This device a unique non-invasive
device that can diagnose arterial stiffness in a human
being without any complicated procedures. The test is
very simple, fast and accurate. A high Arterial Stiffness
can indicate impending cardiovascular disease in the
form of CAD, PAD, CKD or stroke. The validation studies
of DicroWin will commence in the first week of December
2003. |

Genesis is also working feverishly
to complete the development of its cardiovascular risk
analyzer "PeriScope" which is a standalone
device for pulse pressure wave analysis. |

12 January 2001: Genesis has decided
to concentrate on the emerging field of Non Invasive
cardiovascular pulse wave analysis. This field is rapidly
gaining momentum for clinical diagnosis and prognosis
of high risk diseases like Atherosclerosis, CVD, CKD,
Stroke etc. Genesis will focus on development of new
devices in this field. The technologies involved are
Photoplethysmography, Arterial pressure measurements
and doppler flow analysis. |

10 November 2000: The PC based 24
channel EEG machine "eeGraph" which was a
parallel port acquisition device is now converted into
USB port interface device. This will ensure elimination
of problems with ECP, EPP and bi-directional parallel
port selection in the PC setup. |

22 April 2000 : PC based ECG "CardioWin"
is converted to serial port acquisition. The new version
also features "ST" segment calculations. The
interface conversion will take care of problems with
ECP, EPP and bi-directional parallel port selection
in the PC setup. |

12 September 1999 : Genesis
has completed the development of 24 channel polygraphic
channel EEG "eeGraph" (Parallel port acquisition).
"eeGraph" is a PC based digital EEG with amplitude
and frequency brain-mapping. |

29 March 1999 : Genesis has launched
PC based 12 channel ECG machine " CardioWin".
This machine can automatically calculate the ECG medians
and related parameters like Amplitudes, Intervals and
Axes for all 12 leads required for clinical ECG. It
uses Parallel port of the PC for acquisition of ECG
data. |

10 October 1998 : Genesis has announced
the installation of its PC based physiological polygraph
"PhysioScreen" at reputed two medical education
institutes at Bangalore and Mysore. The polygraphs have
4 channels each and can record and analyze ECG, GSR,
Respiration and temperature. |

This successful installation has
added another feather in the cap because these are the
first PC based polygraphs ever developed in India indigenously. |

04 March 1998 : Genesis has announced
the introduction of its Windows* 95 based spirometer
"SpiroWin". This product eliminates the disadvantages
of ISA slot card and enhances the user-friendly features
of earlier product "SpiroWiz" which is a DOS based spirometer. |

SpiroWin also introduces a serial
port interface thus making it suitable for portable
applications. The hardware unit can be carried separately
and connected to a laptop with preinstalled software.
Thus it can be used at multiple locations without any
hassles. |

14 June 1997 : Genesis has successfully
marketed its PC based spirometer "SpiroWiz". SpiroWiz
is a DOS based spirometer which uses an ISA slot add-on
card interface to the PC. The company expressed satisfaction
over the response from the medicare community especially
the pulmonologists and cardiologists and is confident
about the success of this product as it is the first
PC based spirometer designed and developed in India. |

27 January 1997 : M/s. Micro Electronics,
Hyderabad, India; a company founded in 1983 to design
and develop electronics and instrumentation kits for
educational purposes; has announced its plans to float
a separate entity to design, develop and market bio-medical
devices in India. This entity will be a privately held
company by the name "M/s. Genesis Medical Systems Pvt.
Ltd.". It will serve as the main vehicle to undertake
the existing medical devices marketing and manufacture
operations of Micro Electronics. Micro electronics has
a Spirometer called as "SpiroWiz" and a multi-parameter
biofeedback "MFB2.0" as the medical products in its
portfolio. |
